Am I an IT Professional?

The word professional has a lot of meaning, it depends on the understanding of the person on certain applications or situations. For me being an IT professional is a very broad description that a person can claim. In my own opinion, IT professionals are people who have acquired knowledge regarding information technology, regardless of what level that person has attained. Unlike professionals, IT experts have variety of specialized IT subfields that they already mastered. Therefore, because I have acquired knowledge about IT, (even though Im not expert) I classify myself as IT professional.
